This section will cover the history of the first non Indians to inhabitant Pine Island and the surrounding islands. The first were the Spanish fishermen who sailed up the west coast of Florida from Cuba to take advantage of fish rich waters around Pine Island.  The pirates followed the Spanish and were in search of another kind of riches.  Then our modern families started to show up, as outlined in the next section.
