Preserving the past for the future on Pine Island, Florida

Mail Delivery

This section discusses the history of mail delivery for Pine island and the surrounding islands.  This was an important event for the small isolated community of Pine Island in the early years.  And it was also a social event in St. James City where residents would congregate on the porch of Whiteside’s General Store waiting for the mail boat.
