Kinzie Brothers Steamer Line

The Kinzie Brothers steamboats were heavily involved in delivering mail to Pine Island and the surrounding islands.  And for the transporting of vegetables and fruit from the islands to the mainland were it was sent by rail to the northern markets.  At the peak of production on the islands, the Kinzie Line transported annually in excess of 150,000 crates of vegetables and thousands of crates of fruit.
